Katie achieved her BA Joint Honours Degree in Chinese and Management Studies from the University of Durham in 2003, since then she has gained extensive experience within the education and training sectors in the UK, Asia, and on a global level. With over 10 years’ experience in education, training and development, as well as the employability skills sector, she has a strong track record of delivering revenue growth, as well as the ability to develop market opportunities overseas.
Katie has effective communication, planning, sales, marketing, negotiation, facilitation and business networking skills. She has worked with a broad range of companies (in the education, public, private and NFP sectors) and their directors / senior management team to engage employers and employees with the skills agenda and to communicate, and demonstrate, the benefits a better understanding and application of transferable and language skills can have to both the individual and the team that they work within.
In addition to which, she has high-level experience of the design and delivery of educational programmes hosted at UK schools and universities, aimed at 14+, undergraduates, and PhD researchers, as well as CPD courses for executives. Over the past 6 years Katie has successfully led on overseas student recruitment for English Language and Academic full-time programmes in the UK (meeting and exceeding targets), with a particular focus on Greater China, Japan and South Korea. In the last 3 years, her roles have had an increased focus on business development and the relationship management of key stakeholders.
